System Rigidity – Proprietary and Patented Design characteristics provide exceptional rigidity in both the mat face and connection details. The resultant load transfer properties mean significantly less point loading to the substrate and associated vegetation. Furthermore the spanning of low terrain allows undeterred water flow and minimizes the impact of temporary access routes on water based life forms.
System Weight Characteristics – A significant reduction of weight over conventional matting systems provides several associated benefits environmentally. Incrementally lower weight means less damage to the substrate and the natural supporting surface over time. More importantly the ability to use lighter duty equipment in the construction of the road system and component handling over the lifecycle of the road project means significantly less collateral damage by heavy construction equipment. The TerraPro Mat System is specifically designed to allow road construction to take place totally from the mat surface once the first mat is placed. This means no collateral damage in the course of road construction. The reduction of transportation requirements for equivalent coverages when compared to conventional matting systems further reduces environmental impact on any given project.
System Surface Properties – The low porosity nature of composite materials, further enhanced by non porous coating options supports easy and complete cleaning between projects. Properly cleaned there is virtually no possibility of cross contamination (either chemical or vegetative) between sites.
Buoyancy – While not specifically designed to span open water, the TerraPro Mat system has sufficient buoyancy when used properly to cross short spans of very low surface support conditions in amazing fashion.
